
Report a Claim
Accidents are stressful, but reporting a claim shouldn’t have to be. Direct makes filing a claim quick and easy, allowing you to get back on the road as quickly as possible.
Here's how to report a claim:
Act Fast
Report the accident as soon as possible by calling 1-800-403-1077.
Be Prepared
Have all of the information and documents relevant to your loss ready before you make your claim, such as:
- Your policy number
- Police report information
- Your insured vehicle information:
- Year, make, model and color
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- License plate number
- Description of damages to your vehicle
- Location of your vehicle
- Names and contact information for all parties in your vehicle at the time of the accident
- Other drivers’ information if there was more than one vehicle involved.
- Other vehicles’ information including:
- Year, make, model and color
- Insurance carrier information
If you don't have all of this information, don’t worry, youcan still report your claim.

Once you have all of your accident information together, call us at 1-877-Go-Direct (1-877-463-4732), Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (EST) and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (EST). Direct’s First Notice of Loss (FNOL) team is available to help.
What to Expect
First, we'll set up your new loss in our claims system, and give you a claim number to use in all future communications. Your claim will be assigned to an adjuster who will contact you to discuss details about your loss.
