In what states do you offer motorcycle insurance?
We are proud to offer coverage in all 12 states we do business in: Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Do you cover all types of motorcycles?
No, we do not. There are certain types that are considered unacceptable for coverage. For the states in which we offer motorcycle insurance, we do not cover motorcycles used for racing, speed tests, stunt jumping, business interests and commercial or emergency use. We do not cover rental, short-term leases, or motorcycles over 25 years old, an after-market frame, and without a listed NADA value. What is the most affordable motorcycle coverage I can get?
The lowest cost coverage you can get is ultimately determined by the deductible amount, specific coverage plan and amount of financial protection you choose. And, remember, unlike other insurance companies, we offer flexible payment options to help you manage your monthly budget regardless of the coverage you select.

Which coverage do I need by law?
Coverage limits vary state by state. Regardless, we at Direct Auto can make sure you get the amount of coverage required by law. If you are making payments on your motorcycle, you may also need to purchase Comprehensive and Collision to satisfy your lender but this is not coverage required by your state.

How much coverage will I need?
The exact plan you choose depends on your personal needs and the amount you wish to spend. A few things to consider as you make your decision: Do you make payments on your motorcycle? If so, Comprehensive and Collision might be required. Do you have any many custom parts or accessories? If so, you may want to consider adding Custom Parts & Equipment coverage. What deductible can you afford to pay out of pocket? If you can afford a higher deductible, the premium for your comprehensive and collision will go down.

How do I know if I chose the right amount of coverage?

What if I want to change my plan later?
If you need to add or subtract a car, motorcycle or driver from your policy or change your coverage choices, you can always speak with one of our friendly representatives over the phone or in person at one of our local stores. They can also help you with any other changes at that time.

Will I need a new policy for each driver or vehicle?
No. You may simply add them to your existing policy.

How can I make a payment?
We give you many easy options. You can go to any of our Direct sales offices and pay in person with a credit or debit card, check, cash or money order.

Alternately, you can pay with a credit/debit card either by calling 1-877-GO-DIRECT (1-877-463-4732) or using our easy online payment tool. And you can always use the payment coupons provided through our offices and mail a check to us.

What happens if I miss a payment?
In the event that you miss a payment, we'll send you a notice and provide you additional time to make your payment. If you still are unable to make the payment due, we are required to cancel your coverage. However, in some cases we can reinstate your coverage, even after your policy cancels. Insurance cancellation procedures are governed by state law.

Can I choose to lower my monthly payment, change my payment due date or billing cycle at anytime?
You can make those changes before buying your policy; but, unfortunately, once you buy a policy, we cannot change anything pertaining to billing. However, when you return to renew your policy, you can lower your monthly payment at that time. There may be other ways you could lower your payment, such as increasing your deductible(s) or changing coverage choices.
