Having the right car insurance can be important for every driver, but being on the road can put them at risk of more than just dealing with accidents.
There are a significant amount of insurance fraud occurrences, according to a report from AAA Michigan. This is why it is important for those who have vehicles to look out for issues that may come about with claims. This includes looking for inaccuracies and exaggerations. There are also some people who may encourage fraud schemes, and those should be reported to the police. When trying to prevent fraud, it may be a good idea to take down as much information during an accident, as thoroughly as possible.
While this was a Michigan-based branch of AAA, it could be a good idea for residents of the Southeast to take this information to heart, as fraud can happen to any driver.
Not only is fraud an issue for consumers with vehicles, but theft is also a major problem. A report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau noted that more than 4,300 luxury cars were stolen last year. Nearly 715 of them were never recovered for the owner.
