Direct Sprinkles Holiday Cheer in Local Communities
Direct mobilizes its store locations and online following for philanthropy
Direct Auto Insurance celebrated a successful year by giving back to its local communities through two philanthropic campaigns, the “Give One, Get One” Stocking Giveaway and the #DirectGives Campaign. “The holidays are an expensive time for many families, and Direct want[ed] to help ease the cost of the holidays for those in need,” said Ann Davids, CMO of Direct Auto Insurance.
During the “Give One, Get One” Stocking Giveaway, held between Nov. 25 and Dec. 20, Direct Auto customers had the opportunity to register for a chance to win a seven-foot-tall Christmas stocking stuffed with toys. For every stocking that was awarded to a customer, each Direct store chose one of the following charities to donate another stocking to: United Way, Toys for Tots, or The Boys and Girls Club. Direct gave away a total of 800 cheer-filled Christmas stockings through the “Give One, Get One” campaign. Here, Virginia agents load stockings donated to Toys for Tots.
Between Dec. 5 and Dec. 20, Direct also leveraged its online following through the #DirectGives campaign to raise over $4,000 for United Way of Metropolitan Nashville. Direct first donated $1,000 to United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, and then challenged its customers and employees to “Like” Direct’s Facebook page to donate an additional $1. For each new “Like” received during this time, Direct donated an additional $1.
